What We Do & Why

States, as purchasers, regulators, and providers of healthcare services play a fundamental role in healthcare transformation.  As states seek to move the needle on outcomes and costs for the communities they serve, they must embrace interoperability, harness new innovation, and vendor partnerships in a way that supports coordinated care and the opportunity to transform the citizen experience.

Our Vision & Goals

The State HIT Connect Community drives change through dialogue, leadership, and action to help solve the greatest Health IT challenges of our time.  State HIT Community experts are leaders in their fields, bringing a wide range of backgrounds and perspectives all aimed at doing the most good for the greatest number of people.  They have made it their mission to further the ideals of the State HIT community.

Healthcare IT Connect and the State HIT Community has earned a reputation since 2009 for gathering diverse, nonpartisan thought leaders, technologists, solution providers, and policymakers to address some of State Health Information Technologies' most complex problems.  But the goal of these convenings is to have an impact beyond the conference room.  They are designed to provoke, further, and improve actions taken in the real world and impact lives across the country.

Our work - and the impact we make on stakeholders and communities across the US - would not be possible without the ongoing commitment and support of the State HIT Connect Community.  Our success and productivity are inextricably linked to our connections.  In our experience, stronger communities have a more significant sense of purpose.

It's our job to ensure that members understand how their work connects to others which in turn added value to the whole.  We strive to keep a strong purpose in mind and recognize how much sustained, curated contribution from leadership matters.

We encourage greater meaning in the bigger picture through the understanding that everyday contributions matter to the greater community.
